The Beast (treehugger)

This creature from another planet has been captured to be used in a circus. Its large size and dangerous looking tusks mask the fact that it is a sweet and docile creature much like a cow or an elephant. It's a herbivore and eats the bark off of trees. I have named the species tree hunger because of the way its tusks wrap around a trees trunk while it chews the bark or licks the sap. There is little sunlight on this planet which means colder temperatures so it has a thick coat to keep itself warm. it is irritated by the bright flashing lights on stage causing it to become violent. this is used to create a spectacular monster fight show for the audiences with no regard for the creatures safety.
This creature is designed to be a puppet for a stage production. I was inspired by Jim Henson's Ludo, Chinese lion dance and the puppet made for warhorse. I've always adored practical effects, I really enjoy the process of designing for things to be fabricated.
