Engineer 0.2 Concept art and Model

This concept design project is an adaption from the sci-fi short story The greatest one star restaurant in the whole quadrant by Rachael K Jones. I have designed of the main characters, Engineer. I started with 2d design and rendering and later utilized some modelling and prototyping to show the inside of Engineers head.

Story synopsis
“The Greatest One Star Restaurant in the whole quadrant” tells the story of a handful of ‘cyborgs’, being robots with human flesh grafted onto their bodies for improved specialized abilities, fleeing from servitude under humans.
Having stolen an intergalactic food truck, they are bombarded with requests for meals from passing human ships. Deciding they must put up an act in order to avoid rousing suspicion, the cyborgs come to the agreement that they will try to serve the humans food.
Having jettisoned all the remaining food supplies to shed weight, Captain and engineer decided to use some of Captain's meat to feed the hungry patrons.
The reviews they receive afterwards are poor, something that puzzles them as they use Jukebox, who can sample food, to test the meal beforehand. Dejected, Engineers convinces the crew to continue serving food rather then running.
The situation escalates as Engineer gets lost in a feedback loop of slowly increasing reviews, resulting in them cannibalizing their friends to continue increasing the ships review score.
The story reaches a critical point where friendly, the only human passing cyborg and therefore the only one capable of serving, discovers engineers lobotomizing of the crew and alert human authorities.
